Armenians Come Together to Help Another

Four-year-old Charlotte Conybear, the great-granddaughter of Aram Jerrehian, Sr., cofounder and Godfather of St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Church in Wynnewood, PA, is suffering from Apalstic Anemia. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Philadelphia area Armenian churches are inviting their members to be tested to determine if they might be an appropriate candidate as a bone marrow donor. Representatives from the National Bone Marrow Registry or Armenian Bone Marrow Registry will be at Holy Trinity Armenian Church, St. Sahag and St. Mesrob Armenian Church, St. Gregory’s Armenian Church, Armenian Martyr’s Congregational Church, and  St. Mark’s
Armenian Catholic Church on Easter Sunday, April 4 to register prospective donors.

Registration involves answering a few questions, completing a short form and a cheek swab. You will be contacted if you are found to be a match. You may be able to save Charlotte’s life ~ or the life of someone else. For more information on the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, please visit http://www.abmdr.am. For more information on the National Bone Marrow Program, please visit http://www.marrow.org.
